I know I already make a small difference.... but I feel like I'm missing something in what I do? Maybe I am not to that "path" yet???
Remember our conversation the other day? There are people in the world that were born under the stars to be different, do something major. Major could be for the world, for a company, for a family.... But something "out of the ordinary." There are people with their "normal lives" and comfortable with their "soccer mom, business man, suburbia, minivan" kinda world and life... We talked about how they are blind to the real world, their lives are not real. They work for nothing in their lives, never had to deal with real life events (aka, Trav thinking some of these "issues" are just made up
( ... )
I've thought about it all too of course, but I'm sure you knew that :)
I've come to the same conclusion as you, that we can't change others, but we can change ourselves. Changing our minds changes our lives and changes the world. There are a lot of people to whom war, killing and hatred are simply not options. They just no longer occur. Eventually it will reach critical mass. All we have to do is keep being in love. Everyone has cranky days, but once you turn a certain corner, you don't go back. Something snaps, and you're no longer capable of anything except peace. I think you turned that corner long ago, and it's painful that the world hasn't caught up. :) But it will.
Hopefully that's what you were getting at anyway. I'll be embarrassed if I missed the whole point of the entry. :)
You were seriously the only person I thought would read this. I know a couple others have too (Jamison being one and I still have to read/reply to what she wrote lol - LJ didn't email me on it haha).
I just..... I just want peace. I don't want what is out there. It is in human nature to want what we cant have. But - as of right now we CANNOT have peace, so why can't everyone want that.... And work toward it......
Makes sense to me. I hope changing the me that is reflected upon the world helps the world change it's reflection as a whole. One domino will start the topple.
You're exactly right. And the great value in realizing what we don't want is that it helps us realize what we DO want, and that's all we need. Then we just believe it, visualize it and live it. People accuse me of living in my own world, and I know I live a bit too much in my own head, but sometimes there's so much energy swirling around me, and my bubble collides, and it's impossible not to spread my world. Sometimes in the summer it's like flowers pop out of the ground where I've walked. I'm not saying it means I'm a "good person" (whatever that means), but I latch on to this vibration of peace that I've found, and I can't even see anything else anymore. Everything else bounces off
( ... )
We just need to build a group of "First Dominoes" Meaning - we will be the ones to start the effect of spreading peace. People, groups, men and women - they can all come together for the sake of war, fighting in beliefs, power, greed, religion, rioting...... Why can't we do the same in the way of spreading love.
I sound like a hippie - and I assure you I am in NO WAY a "Peace and Love will conquer all" There will always be problems. I am not a hippie - believe me when I say that. I just don't like people killing each other, hating each other, harming for the sake of doing so. I'm an advocate for humanity, for building societies and communities based on true selves and meanings, values and understanding. Differences will forever be there, but it should forever be our reason to fight.
