RIP Serafina, 1991-2012
Yesterday, despite asking for food for much of the day, Serafina never wanted to eat anything we gave her, until we tried some tuna. That, she was willing to eat. Last night, however, she wouldn't come to bed with us (normally, she's been sleeping on our bed). This morning, she wouldn't even eat tuna that was offered to her. cowfan took her to the vet this morning, where she got the news that Serafina was dying. We decided to spare her any more days of going rapidly downhill, and after spending quite a bit of time holding her and saying our goodbyes, we had her put to sleep. As always, the staff at the Kitty Klinic were the very model of kindness and consideration.
I'm going to miss her; she'd been my cat for over 20 years, since I picked her out at the Humane Society as an 8-week-old kitten.
