A Few Things

My Mom is being super-annoying about the whole break-up thing. She hasn't said a comforting word yet, but she has criticized our decision every time it comes up. In fact, it comes up far to often, because I told her for at least the third time today not to talk about it anymore. Today she actually told me that she was just trying to help me ( Read more... )

Parents are weird like that. My mom was very passive agressive against my ex-boyfriend because she wasn't ready to accept that I was gay, much less a practicing gay. She did the same thing to my aunt the first time she got a girlfriend, and my mom kind of considers my aunt to be her first daughter in a way.

Poll answer! I'd say try the goatee thing out. It's fun. Sideburns are hit or miss for some people. How fast does your facial hair grow? It may be easy for you to experiment if you don't have too long to wait. I had to wait a month or so before my facial hair reached any significant length to not be considered silly looking. *sigh*

I vote goatee too! Make sure you get a good beard trimmer, if you don't have one already. Trimming your beard is fun! =)

Goatee.

The Pennsylvania RenFaire is fabulous... I go every year, eat myself into a coma, and spend every cent I have (last year was $335... I'll try to top that this year). But of course, that's all way far away from you all. And New York is far away from me. -_-

I guess it depends on how you're handling the breakup, but judging from your posts you don't sound crushed or anything...so if there's no distress your mom doesn't really have any reason to rag you on it.

On the facial hair: Actually, I'd like to see what you'd look like with a beard. ^_^

I've had a beard for the majority of the time we've known eachother, from slightly before until this past spring break.
