This weekend was rather grand. Monday was a day off so some of the other native teachers and myself headed up to FujiQ Highlands, an amusement park of rather gigantic proportions, home to some of the scariest roller coasters around.

Sadly the site in english is crap and out of date but clicky the shiny pics, you'll get the gist ( Read more... )

Her name is Yuko and she's an english teacher. We've been going out to dinner for the past month or so and we got together just before she left for Holland for 3 weeks :(

She's funny and sweet and kinda loud. Very endearing ;) It's really good learning Japanese from her, and she learns a lot about idiom and whatnot from me. My Japanese is pretty simple at the moment. I can't even understand a 3 yr old past the first couple of words they say but I know a few good phrases and have even made up some silly japanese wordplays that made her giggle.

She likes me and I like her... *swoon*

Oh... and 'onoz' is like 'oh noes' or 'oh no!'

naah... they usually just look at you and say "biggu dikku?" WTF!

Baconsoap & Archenland: The park is about an hours drive (or bus) from Numazu or a bit longer from Shizuoka. Best entry costs 5000 yen ($50) and gives you access to all rides all day. The haunted house is an extra 500 yen. For more detailed info, GOOGLE IT!
