Jury Duty

I’m very irked with the government right now. I was summoned for jury duty, but that’s not really the problem. Although I reside elsewhere, I still use my hometown as my legal place of residence, so I was selected for jury duty a couple of months ago. When I had jury duty in Gwinnett county, you just call a number they give you the night before you're supposed to report for the week. There's a recording and you just listen to see if your number comes up. You should have that number on the card they sent you. Chances are, you may not even have to show up at the courthouse at all this week. But, just in case, you may want to let your supervisor know. Nathan says it would be illegal for them to fire you for skipping out to do your civic duty. In fact, if you didn't do jury duty, there may be civil fines. And if you get called to go in, they pay you for your time...although it's something measly like $45.
