It seems like bad stuff likes to happen around my birthday. It’s not every year, mind you, but it’s consistent enough that I should keep my guard up. If I’m not getting in a car wreck, then my mother’s in the ER, or I’m projectile vomiting from bad clam chowder. This year, I’m homeless. Someone swiped my keys yesterday. I hope you get your keys back soon. As far as sleeping under your desk, that had to be uncomfortable. Usually if you call the front office, they will have a recording that will give you a number for an emergency. I'm thinking that getting locked out of your apartment constitutes an emergency and they would have come and unlicked it for you. Just so you know in the future. That really stinks that this happened to you. Hope things get better.

I'm back in my apartment now. I figured I could probably get back in, but I didn't want to commit to having them changing the locks unless I was fairly certain my keys wouldn't be returned. They made some new keys for me, and they're not going to change my lock, which makes sense since there's no way to identify where I live on my keychain. If I had just had this taken care of when it happened, I could have slept in my bed for the past two nights. Oh, well.
