YAY! As a native Coloradan, this makes me happy to see. And homesick!

My husband was going to propose to me on Mt Evans. But we had a dramatic interlude because he was acting like he didn't plan to propose, and he got exasperated and proposed to me in his apartment instead. I ruined it!

Heeeeeeee, only Coloradans would plan a proposal that involves a 5+ hour climb before the question. ♥ ♥ ♥!!!!

Oh, by the way, Don, Kilimanjaro peaks at 19,334 feet, so, best of luck with giving up smoking!

lolololol. When he was swimming my whole family was literally like "How is he doing that?" and then when he took a break to cough we were like, ah, that's more like that.

ALSO LOOK AT YOU AND YOUR TOUGH MOUNTAIN CLIMBING. I'm so impressed. Also SAWTOOTH sounds like it should be in Mordor or something.

and then when he took a break to cough

Hahahahahahaha, that moment was hilarious, because I have definitely been there before. I'd go for a run, cough my lungs out, and then have a cigarette.

Okay, dorky sharing time: While we were slogging our way up this thing, Karl says, "Now I can really sympathize with Frodo and Samwise. Imagine how difficult their journey was -- their legs are so short! Thank goodness they had Elven bread."

HEEEE, oh man. Congratulations, Karl, you have just redeemed yourself for not knowing who Ron Weasley was.

No, no, no, no, no. Let's not be ridiculous. Nothing is going to redeem him of that.

Aw, thank you! It was a great time. Next year, I'm hoping to do Longs Peak, which is the killer here. You have to take your own water pump b/c there's just no way to carry as much water as you'll need. It's a little scary, but now I feel like it might be possible!
