One thing.
Okay, okay, two things.
I'm loving Mad Men more and more and more each episode, for so many reasons, the foremost of which is that there hasn't been this wide a range of interesting female characters on my TV since Battlestar Galactica, and that is a high bar indeed.
And moments like that .gif are about balance -- in tone as well as pace -- but it's also about taking care, about giving a damn enough to give screen time to the moments that keep life fresh and surprising, even after decades of it. I can't remember who said that Mad Men is very much like science fiction, but that's always stayed with me, that it's this staged costumed drama of a world that doesn't exist, where the trick is to make the characters believable by keeping them relatable.
