The gander is very protective, but also very gentle. He allows visitors to the babies, but doesn't like it very much. Poor guy.
The breed is very gentle, and ours were hand-raised, so they are really very sweet, unlike some geese.
When adult, they have curly feathers, like chenille pipe cleaners (or like dreadlocks, kind of.) It's a fairly rare breed, so it is very exciting to have a breeding pair, now.
I'll bet! I'm a little jealous of you. I love geese. In the city, I don't get to see many. And the gander does look like he's thinking, "Step back." *g* His head would make a good icon.

If you look closely, you can almost tell... they have blue eyes (even as adults.)
