Izanami is many personalities rolled into one being. Essentially, most of these come from her as a woman driven to the edge and beyond with the love of her husband and the hate for him at the same time. Being apart from him after so many years has completely destroyed any sense of logical thinking, and any kind of rational attempt at being civil is usual brought by an ulterior and delusional motive that... most of the time is hidden deep in layers of fog. /BRICKED FOR PUN
The goddess of the dead, upon first appearance, seems insane or possibly even outright mad. In a sense, she is, but there's more to her than just that. For the most part, her attitude and belief is like that of a child's- she wants him but she hates him but she needs him but she has to kill him he's mine he's mine this is the right way it is it is it is no one can say any different because I'm right and no one understands. No one.
Izanami is spoiled, a brattish kind of goddess who cares nothing for anyone but herself. She is a shadow of the loving wife she used to be. While her methods are kind and motherly, it's meant in a way to rekindle the attention of Izanagi, her husband, to bring him back to noticing her. In noticing her, she wants him to regret sealing her away, and by doing so reunite with him. It's for her own happiness, to be satisfied and live a life she once had that she now misses, and she has every right to want it back, because she's done nothing wrong.
Izanami is a mother, not only in the sense of being the mother of most creation, but also towards humankind in general. Though she no longer sees any of the children deities she gave birth to, she still carries the sense of caring and desire to not see any of her children (human or not) to be hurt. It's through this thinking that she believes that by taking away their issues/having them hide away from them forever, she's aiding them in being happier overall. She feels it's necessary to make up for the time that she was absent as a mother and wants to heal the wounds she has as well as caused to others.
Izanami is obsessive compulsive, in more aspect than one. In being in Yomi she has come to spend almost every waking moment hating and loving the man who has sealed her there forever. Her obsession with Izanagi has led to her spiraling out of control in the section of love- both wanting to adore him and hold him in her arms forever, and to also castrate him alive and pull out his innards at the same time. From this, she's somehow led herself to believe that by helping mankind she'd somehow redeem herself in the eyes of her husband. This has led to many interferences in the Persona 4 world, the unfolding of the Midnight Channel and the presence of the creepy fog crawling throughout Inaba. Also, because of this, she has somehow led herself to believe that humans need aid and want to be helped and live forever behind their facades rather than ever face the truth, for fearing it hurting too much. Because of this, she integrated their desires into simple forms in which they felt they no longer had to hide who they really were.
Izanami has cold words and a fair temper, oftentimes these are tried and tested again and again. Mostly she hides behind a casual "trollololololololll~" facade, but push the right buttons and she can get angered easily. Anything about her being left behind, or Izanagi making the right decision, and you can expect a very displeased goddess in your face. She is not one to come after people however, nor fiddle with them specifically, unless she has a greater plan in mind.
But all in all, the goddess means no cruel harm to her children. Her intentions actually are for good, despite her actions towards them. Her congratulations before disappearing from the Investigation Team's world prove that she had only meant to aid, not hinder, and it was through their actions that she understood (if only a little) what humanity had really wanted- to find the truth on their own, even if the truth hurts to discover.
✧ ABILITIES/POWERS: Lololololol goddess. Basically anything except leaving Prom (not like she'd actually want to go back to Yomi). I have a permissions form and everything ready. Her skills, however, lie in creating a thick fog that turns humans into Shadows and creating disguises for herself (at least in P4 verse).
