The new Cure single sounds a lot like the Get Up Kids. This isn't the worst thing in the world, considering my musical tastes, but it does sound as if they're caring more about remaining relevant than about expressing something genuine. I caught it accidentally... I didn't even know about the album. My friend says, "He probably needs to rework the look, every year he just looks more like Boy George and Boy George doesn't even look like Boy George anymore." I haven't paid much attention since high school, but I doubt that really has anything to do with their talents.

the get up kids? i'm scared. one of the worst possible directions they could choose would be pandering to that demographic (after they've already built such a considerable body of work on their own merits). i haven't listened yet but say it ain't so, bob.
