Nngh.

I really like these beginning parts. I enjoy imagining them filming it and then laughing afterward from the effort of being so serious-faced. <3<3

It took me longer than it should have to realize this was Aoto. I think mostly because I hadn't even hoped to be shown such glory as Aoto, totally relaxed, at home in her private life clothes, just, fjdlasfdsajklfaslk ahhhhhhhhhh. (WILL WE GET TO SEE WHAT ENOMOTO WEARS AT HOME, TOO?? I CAN'T IMAGINE, BUT THEN, I DIDN'T EXPECT TO SEE AOTO, EITHER.)

SERIOUSLY, SO MANY FEELINGS.

I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE CALLED SERIZAWA BECAUSE OF A COCKROACH. SHE IS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON. IF THEY DON'T FIND IT, SHE'LL HAVE TO MOVE!!

HER HAIR CLIPS. HER GLASSES. AOTOOOOOO.

SHOW, I LOVE YOU.

These two seriously don't need Enomoto to be great together. This drama has done a really good job of balancing out the roles! <3<3

The little gray cells. <3 I love how Enomoto really pores over his thoughts, mining every observation and examining every premise before coming to conclusions.

Here I like how he waits for Serizawa's pause to be of a length that it seems some encouragement is required to proceed. 1. Enomoto wants to hear everyone's thoughts, they could contain something important! This goes back to my feelings about him not being a snob. But also 2. He isn't going to say anything unless he has to.

Serizawa is such a closet mystery-solving junkie, I love him.

Lots of things to ponder!

He totally loves saying those words to Enomoto. :D

AND ENOMOTO'S REACTION IS JUST AS IMMEDIATE AS SERIZAWA COULD HOPE.

Thinking things over and coming up with conclusions intriguing enough to hook him into the case.

If you don't get to build your model this week, Enomoto, at least you get to think about spiders sucking out the innards of crickets.

And goes after Serizawa at once. :D I can just imagine other characters feeling like AUGH HE IS BEING ANNOYING BUT HE'S MY BOSS SO I HAVE TO TAKE IT--NOT AOTO, NOT WITH SERIZAWA.

I keep ending up with caps of people just ... being in a room together, because Kagiheya seems to do a particularly good job at making it compelling.

Hanging out, doing their own things, Aoto does most of the talking, isn't upset by Enomoto's absorption in his lock, I just fjldkfjla;skfsaljkf.

Oh sparkle, guys, someday this show is going to end and there will be NO MORE AOTO. I AM LOVING HER TOO MUCH; IT WILL BE TOO HARD TO SAY GOODBYE.

At her cry of distress, Enomoto actually stops working on his business for a bit, and even when he starts working again, he converses. WHAT, ENOMOTO.

THEN SHE DOWNS HIS DRINK AND IS AMAZING.

This episode teaches Aoto the importance of asking Enomoto direct questions, because he will not volunteer important information unless it's about locks (IS THERE IMPORTANT INFORMATION THAT ISN'T ABOUT LOCKS??).

AOTO: PERSISTENT; ENOMOTO: WILLING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.

KEY POINT, easy to forget when he's been so helpful to them. <3<3

Here I felt like I didn't understand the atmosphere. Is this always how he is when he finds Aoto in his space? Is she weirdly happy... for some reason? Are they just setting it up so that it feels like a big deal when he agrees to accompany her to the crime scene later?

But then, he's been investigating on his own! <3 The parts that interest him, at least. :D

Okay so even though I would have ALSO bought it if it wasn't presented as a big deal that he agreed to go, the show is good enough and I trust it enough that I bought it that it was a fairly big deal that he agreed to go. :D UM BECAUSE FEELINGS. FEELINGS.

I love the things that (visibly) get Enomoto's attention. I love that this is something... that... well, either he has thought about her and come to conclusions about Aoto (that she's a good person, and what that entails for her specifically) OR he's going with his gut without really thinking it over, because he doesn't feel he needs to. I LIKE EITHER OF THESE THINGS VERY MUCH.

I love how he goes back to his lock, all ... not EMBARRASSED but ... he said what he wanted to say! The atmosphere is a little weird now again, why does this happen when he's saying things that are personal, oh well this lock will still bow to the force of his masterly persuasion.
