This week I finished Eyes of Dawn. I also watched the first two episodes of GTO for the new dramawatchalong, but that won't count for this challenge because I won't finish until it is over. I haven't started another drama since I just did all of that yesterday, but I am thinking that I will go with Mofuku no Randevu- next ( ... )

I'm afraid I might not like it as much the second time and get disillusioned.

That happened to me during the last year's drama challenge. I decided to rewatch Galileo, which I adored. I discovered it didn't hold up as well as I remembered. I still loved Detective Utsumi and was tempted to keep watching just for her, but ultimately, I decided to keep my memories pure. It was a good show, after all. It just wasn't as fun to rewatch the mysteries.

Meaning you quit rewatching it? Or quit rewatching dramas all together? Or?

It has happened to me too, though the majority of dramas I have rewatched I have enjoyed just as much. Two I have enjoyed more. Out of the six I have liked less, I only actually felt disillusioned about one of them--the rest I just thought "how did I like this so much to begin with?"

Meaning I quit rewatching that particular drama. Strangely enough Galileo is one of the very few Asian dramas that I read fanfiction for and still do, even after my rewatch fail. And honestly I think there were extenuating circumstances with that. The scenes that I remembered liking where just as good, if not better. The problem was the mysteries were pretty silly the first time around and, in this specific instance downright annoying when you already know whodunit. (I can name a couple of mystery shows where that isn't the case.)

It also probably makes a difference that I have always been a rereader of books and like to rewatch my favorite movies and episodes. For example, I have no clue how many times I've seen Spirited Away. I've lost count. (Last year alone, I saw it four times!) The difference with a drama is that it is a much longer investment of time.

1. Just like last week, I am too lazy to count~

2. It's cheating, probably, because it was a rewatch, but FREETER. And then King 2 Hearts, Hanzawa Naoki, I Hear Your Voice, Flower Boy Ramen Shop............ tied. :D Because I feel no need to choose and loved them all so much. ♥

4. I am going to finish The Master's Sun, and probably Rich Man, Poor Woman (likely not including the special), maybe try to make a push on Bambino, maybe try to make a push on something else on a last minute whim. <3

6. I rewatch dramas most often when I watch something I've already loved with someone who already loved it, or with someone who hasn't seen it yet (but I feel fairly confident will love it). I generally try to wait a while... but sometimes I can't, and when I can't, I try to rope a good friend in for the second viewing. ♥ (THANKS FOR BEING THAT GOOD FRIEND A LOT, TOP. ♥)

WOOO, FINAL WEEK!! LET'S DO IT, DRAMA FINISHERS. <3<3<3

You mean you rewatch things a lot with someone sitting next to you? Chatting online while watching it? Or you make a schedule online for watching separately then discussing? Or what? Lol I'm super curious. XD I would love to watch dramas with other people more, but usually no one seems interested.

Sometimes with someone sitting next to me, but usually chatting online while watching it! It can go really well to really poorly, but I have found a few people with whom it goes well (and I assume that for other people, less sensitive to the negative opinions of others about things they love, it is easier for these things to go well :D). I'm rewatching a kdrama with Top right now, and a jdrama with another of my friends. ♥

You're so lucky to have friends that will do that with you! I have done it with a couple of drama special type of things, but I've never found anyone willing to do it with entire series. If it is a rewatch, I would definitely want it to be with someone else who loved it because I wouldn't want the feelings I had developed about it to be shattered by negative opinions either.

Actually I have a question maybe someone can help me with. Has anyone seen Harvest Villa? I had high expectations of it, but after four episodes it has no plot. It keeps HINTING at all sorts of things, but so far it has just been a jumble of seemingly pointless scenes of the characters' lives. I want to know if it brings everything into a cohesive story at some point (hopefully soon!) or if it keeps up the same style and pacing throughout.

First off, thank you to phrenk for coming to the rescue when I encountered posting issues.

And as for my big news... I finished Answer Me 1994 last night! I decided to screw it and take a page from my early drama watching days. So I stayed up and blew through my remaining episodes. Though there were a couple of big differences between then and now. Back then it was a case of "just one more episode to see if they resolve X" and, worse, I had to be at work bright and early. In this case, I could sleep in and what I was actually doing was getting rid of a procrastination distraction. (I kept watching episodes when I should have been writing.)

Okay, since these were my questions, I had better answer them:

1. In between last post and this one (Wednesday to Wednesday), I watched 7 episodes... mostly because I was sick. :-) That put me at episode 15. I watched 16 & 17 on Saturday. And last night I watched the last 4. :-)

2. Well, for the series on a whole, I still think loved episode 2 possibly the best. But episode 12 (the one with Trash's ( ... )

Congratulations on your big finish!! I hope that even though the motivation was different, it was still fun to blow through your remaining episodes. :) I'm of the opinion that the ending is usually the best place to blow through a bunch, so you stay in the build for the emotional climax, too. :D

But when I do, it's normally because I want to see a certain scene again... and that sucks me into watching the whole series whether I intend to or not. :-)
Heh, I have done that before too, usually thinking "wow, I forgot just how much I liked this show! I'VE MISSED IT." :D

Thanks again for your questions, off to answer them (belatedly) now! <3

4. Now that I've completed I Hear Your Voice, I am in full You Who Came from the Stars mode. :D I might try to watch the end of that as soon as the subs are out, both so I don't have to worry about spoilers and so I can see what other watching I can fit into my life after ( ... )
