I'm not sure it's that they said it couldn't be done, it's that they blinked a lot, looked confused, and were sort of like... why? (No, seriously, why? Is this something I ought to be doing in my own house and just don't know about?)

In theory vacuuming the dust from your fridge coils once or twice a year makes the fridge run more efficiently. That's what all the power-saving-tips people tell me, anyway. ^^
