This post here is for personal conversations which should happen but one or both of us doesn't want to put up a new post/log and thus we will just thread it out here. This can be used to thread with folkloristic anytime and anywhere. This can either be in person (with action), or via the journal's call feature (voice and/or written ( Read more... )

[Don draws the filter pattern, then stares blankly at it for a long minute, not saying anything.]

[Focus, Donatello.]

[He gathers himself and speaks.]

Helios...? Robert told me you had a pretty rough re-entry.

[ He's almost caught off guard a slight jump at the other's voice over the journal. There's some shuffling as he puts aside a current project to address the other over the journal. ]

Donatello? It's nice to hear from you! [ Oh dear...that. ] Ah...well yes it was. Oh but I'm perfectly fine now actually! Feeling loads better than I was.

[He sounds genuinely happy to hear it.] I'm glad. And your magic came back? [He's asking not just from self-interest but because he can imagine it would be pretty distressing for a wizard to be magic-less.]

Yes thankfully. It...it was very odd not having it. Or I should say having it but not being able to use it! [ Very odd indeed but that's the Malnosso for you. ] Like a very nice looking cake in the display window that's not for sale.

[ Pouting on his end thinking about it. Only Helios would attribute cake to magic. ]

[Please, Helios, please still be awake.

Giles' voice, when it comes over the journal, is tired, rasping, and faint.]

...Helios? Can you hear me?

[ Helios is usually awake so when he hears that he is...well he's very concerned. Extremely concerned because it doesn't sound like anything that's gone right and in Luceti that can mean lots of things. He'll answer almost instantly and you might hear some fumbling as he goes for his journal. ]

I'm here, yes. Wh-what's wrong? Where are you?

Th-There's a house, by the lake.

[There's definitely something wrong - Giles' breath is rattling in his chest as he takes a breath in.]

...do you know where it is?

I-I can find it. I'll be there soon. [ Helios has no idea the exact location, but he has seen it once or twice which is all he needs for a teleportation spell. ]

Hold-hold on.

[Seven days since they last spoke. Seven days of discomfort and mostly-isolation and mulling over the billion-and-one things troubling Robert since the end of that thrice-damned experiment.

Bloody hell, he was lonely. Really lonely - it's strange, he used to be so afraid of people, but... But he was really lonely.

Lonely and... and afraid that, like with Ami, this had changed his relationship with Helios forever.

He attempts a very uncomfortable, ashamed little message today, because he misses Helios so damned much right now.]

... Helios...?

... C-Could... Could I... v-visit you today?

I... I would greatly a-appreciate your company...

[ Oh, oh dear not a message he was expecting at all. There's a small pause of silence before an answer. ]

Robert? Is...is everything alright? And-yes...yes of course. [ He can't help but acquiesce because you sound so lonely and Helios has been meaning to talk to you but you know. He just...couldn't bring himself to contact you. ]

Ah, w-well, I'm alright. J-just... I m-missed you.

[And he's been alone in his house for a week pretty much.

Yeah, he's completely psychologically fine! ... Only, not really. Though he's doing it to himself.]

... A-Ah, thank you.

I will... be over as soon as possible...

[And Robert gets up to go over to Helios' house. He's still a slow bastard, so expect him to take awhile. At least Helios can talk to him over the journal still?]

... I, e-er, wasn't certain if you wanted to s-see me, but... I'm glad...

I-I'm sorry. I...I should have spoken to you sooner.

And that's not it. I didn't...I didn't think you would want me to come over so soon, at least. [ Even though you said it was all right. He still can't wrap his head around how it will possibly be all right. ] But do take your time.

Helios?

...I'm afraid we may need your assistance.

[Cheer up though, bro. Giles doesn't sound injured this time around. Just...incredibly solemn.]

[ Oh well not the message he was expecting to hear. But then again Giles did have a way of bringing up cryptic and worrisome messages. It was almost a reoccurring theme for them.

We? Well at least he doesn't sound injured or anything like that. Cue relieved sigh out of the journal's microphone function before Helios gets close enough to be heard again. You so need to stop doing that Giles. ]

Ah...assistance? With what?

Some magic. If you can.

Can you come by House 7? I'll explain there. I would try for a filter but, well...those have been difficult lately.

[ Magic he can do Giles. Magic he definately can do. ] And here I thought it was going to be something difficult.

[ Don't mind the amused tone. ]

I'll be there shortly then. [ He'll just be packing up some supplies just in case. He's not sure the circumstances so...best be prepared. ]

[ The day after a certain conversation, Homura makes his way to the library. It's not a place he visits so often himself, as people tend to interest him more than books. Still, there's likely something to be said for the hobby, and Homura glances over the titles until he sees the person he came here for. He only recognizes Helios from their brief conversation the day before, but the man stands out enough.]

You're the one from yesterday, correct? Who hopefully managed to save his room from burning completely.

Ah! Y-yes I am. I did actually stop it. Haha good thing too.

Indeed. Especially if you live in one of the community buildings.

I am Homura. I was hoping to continue that conversation, if--[He motions to the book.]--you aren't too occupied at the moment.

Well they do repair themselves. But-ah, n-not the point really. [ Just clearing his throat. And motioning for Homura to take a seat, while closing his book. ] Ah we didn't introduce ourselves did we? I'm Helios, it's a pleasure meeting you Homura. And it's perfectly fine! I'm not busy at all at the moment!
