Wand:
Souji's wand is 15.5 inches, made out of kingwood, and has a core infused with dragon heartstring.
Kingwood: "Kingwood is aptly named - a rich and regal exotic rosewood, it is treasured for its strength and protective properties. This wood is an excellent healing wood, closely tied with willpower, it would also be excellent for luck, magic or divination. Also for curses, this is not a wood for novices or the untrustworthy."
Dragon Heartstring: "Dragon Heartstring: A creature of legend, the dragon symbolizes wisdom and longevity. The dragon is fierce and strong, and would make a ferocious enemy or marvelous friend. The heartstring of a dragon would be a wise choice for one who wishes to cast extraordinary hexes or defensive spells. Would also make an excellent companion to woods that feed off the element of fire."
Familiar:
Souji was not allowed to have a pet as a very young child, because his parents were not around much to supervise his interaction with one (or take care of the things that Souji simply couldn't, such as veterinary emergencies). However, feeling bad for this, his parents got him a cat to take with him to Hogwarts. The cat is rather petite in size, with sleek black fur and probing yellow eyes. It's a female, affectionately dubbed Hecate. For the most part she's regal and polite, if a bit mysterious with her comings and goings. But she's always there when Souji wants or needs her to be, and she can be very playful and mischievous acting around those she likes. Unless Souji wants her to be there with him, she tends to avoid the common room.

Backstory:
Souji is a pure-blood member of a respected wizarding family. He is the only child of two Ministry bureaucrat workers who are employed in the Department of International Magic Cooperation. Both of his parents spend long hours away from home on a near-daily basis due to the intense nature of their jobs. As a result, he typically spends his breaks from school with his Uncle Dojima, who is an auror, and his little cousin Nanako. Growing up, he was a voracious reader but also fond of rough-and-tumble play.
He is a childhood friend of Naoto Shirogane and the pair maintain their close relationship even into their adult years. Souji devotes quite a bit of his free time to studying; he prefers to do so in the library above all other places, because it keeps him the least distracted. He attends Dueling Club when he can, but it is his last priority behind Quidditch and Gobstones.
Souji tried out for Quidditch the moment this option was available to him. He became a Chaser straight-away, and later rose through the ranks to become the Team Captain after they lost their previous Captain due to graduation. He is also Captain of the Hufflepuff Gobstone Team and hopes to continue Hufflepuff's 6-year winning streak and put one last championship under his belt.
