So most of you know that i'm at best 2-5 months and at worst 2-5 years behind the current music scene. Here are my best albums of 2003 or earlier that I only discovered this year:

David Gray - A New Day at Midnight (2002)
Death Cab For Cutie - The Photo Album (2001)
New Order - Get Ready (2001)
Stereophonics - You Gotta Go There to Come Back (2003)
Hootie and the Blowfish - Cracked Rear View (1994)
As for 2005, I concur with the first 5 on alissaaa's list but i would add embrace - out of nothing, doves - some cities, david gray - life in slow motion, and sigur ros - takk....
