"Cordelia?" she called out, alone in the motel parking lot. She felt silly. She was standing alone yelling into the sky. But, the minute Dean had mentioned her name, Buffy knew that somehow, their lives - or her afterlife and her life were now intertwining. "Cordelia!"

"Buffy?"
Buffy wasn't a charge in any sense of the word, but she did want to look over the people from her previous life. It still didn't explain how Buffy knew how to call for her, though, which meant that something was up. Sam was giving her a quizzical look, and she glanced to him, before holding up a finger in front of her.
"Hold that thought."
A few minutes later, she was landing as a swirl of glowy orbing lights in front of the Slayer, and giving her a very confused look. "Not to sound unhappy to see you or anything, but how did you get this number?"

It was kind of impressive.
"We have an entire set-up in Cleveland, you think what, we don't know what whitelighters are?" she asked, crossing her arms. But, she had to reel in the bitch. "And nice to see you, too Cordelia." Walking towards her, Buffy continued. "We have a mutual - well, I don't think we can call him an acquaintance --"

"The point, Buffy? I can't leave my charge alone for long."
Nor that Sam would appreciate hearing that, because she was sure he thought he could handle himself, but she wasn't worried about his physical well-being -- just his mental one. Though she would be cloaking him from demonic presences from where she was standing, just for good measure.

It was as straight a point as she could admit to. It seemed weird explaining to Cordelia that Dean had crawled out of his own grave and wandered into a diner her and Xander had been in. Or, perhaps Dean or Bobby were the acquaintance. Either way, anything past Sam Winchester wasn't an issue at this juncture.
