Taking care of a post op cat is harder than you'd think. Mr. M is a lot more jacked up than I thought he would be. He has had minor surgeries before and usually its like, squirt some antbiotics on him and give him a pat and it's all good. This was major. He needs pain pills and antibiotics at regular intervals, hot compresses and gauze changes ( Read more... )

Awww all the best to MM. You are a good mother to put that much money and time into him getting better. A lot of people woulda...you know.

They gave me the most genius advice for giving a cat a pill: grind it into a powder, mix it with karo syrup, and use a syringe to squirt it into his mouth. he can't choke on it, but he can't spit it out either, and you don't even really have to get it into the back of the throat! its working like a charm. i figure you might (hopefully not, but) find that info useful!
