More excitement and more boredom than I wanted

Mar 07, 2009 01:50

This evening, around 7:00, as I was walking home from the bus, with Raynedaze, I saw a police car sitting at the corner, in front of my house. A moment later, it took off at high speed. We wondered what was happening here, in my usually very quiet neighbourhood ( Read more... )

Glad you're ok.

*hugs*

Giving the officers cake is a very nice touch.

That's definitely not the fun side of 'interesting times." I'm glad you're ok and making chocolate cake for the police is awesome.

I was thinking "huh, cops and robbers with guns and stuff, even in Canada", until I got to the last sentence, which totally bowled me over with its Canadian-ness. I mean, good for you, but I probably wouldn't have thought of it.

Wow. I'm glad you didn't happen to rush home from the bus stop. It would have been a bad time-and-place for running.

Any idea which service the reporters were working for?

I have no faintest clue. I didn't ask. I just answered their questions in my usual manner, which seemed to fail to please them. Too much equivocation, I guess.

"I saw some police cars, I heard some shots. That's all I really know about it." Yeah, I can see that might be disappointing for someone who's looking for lurid details and speculation.

Ya, it was really weird last night. Was listening to CBC news on the radio, and they talked about this incident and that the police were looking for a witness who was seen on the street just before the incident started.

Man it was weird, reading your post and then hearing that. How surreal it must have been for you. You never know when something like this is going to happen. It does not matter how big or small your town or how poor or rich your neighbours.

Unfortunately, we live in difficult/desparate times. I hope incidents like this do not happen too often.

Glad you are okay. Nice gesture, making the police cake!! :)

Love the comment about not counting the number of shots since it was not on television! LOL

"may we live in interesting times...."
