Omg, me too!

I've had glasses since I was really small, so I can't even remember what the world looks like when you can actually.. .y'know... see.

I thought halos were normal for years and years, I never knew what people were talking about when they said they couldn't drive at night because of the halos, I was like "what halos?" even though I see HUGE halos.. heh.. so weird.

For years, I just thought it was the way everybody saw. With my glasses on I have halos. Without them, I don't know, because I can't see at all.

One time, my friend asked me why I didn't get my eyes surgically corrected, and I said I would miss the way christmas lights look without my glasses on too much. They're so pretty .. not being able to see well is pretty.. like Vaseline on a camera to make stuff soft and sweet. I wouldn't really want to part with it. :)

I have to admit, the world might look a little less fantastic at night...I think I might miss the sight of the city almost looking like it's a crazy ice sculpture illuminated from below when I drive past downtown at night, but at this point, the downsides are starting to catch up with me and it's getting hard to do simple things like read a book or see road signs before I'm about to drive past them...

Well, that's no fun at all... I realize you have a totally different issue than I do, I wouldn't want to have to deal with that at all... whereas I am just incredibly nearsighted. That site is cool though to show other people who don't understand how things look.

I see halos around everything. Astigmatisms are fun.

i had the eye thing too. totally complicated when i wound up getting my $300 bucks-a-pair contacts (that were too heavy to sit directly in place). still makes driving at night a chore.

hope you're still doing the culinary school thing. don't think i've seen an update in a while.
