[Private] The World Tree.
It would seem that the spirit dwelling in the World Tree is known as "Martel". Yuan was finally forced into explaining a few things about it, and I must admit that it makes a fair amount of sense now that I have some basic information. (It also puts my mind at ease knowing that this spirit is apparently benevolent.) I can't shake the feeling, however, that there's something Yuan hasn't told us. I think everyone noticed how protective he was of the tree, so I can only assume that he and Martel had a personal relationship of some kind back where they came from. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I still believe that to be the case.
Speaking of where people came from, Colonel Jade Curtiss also seems to have been summoned here, but much earlier than either Asch or myself. He hasn't even witnessed Akzeriuth's collapse yet. It's a tedious situation, but I'm going to have to refrain from telling him very much. I'm sure he's even more suspicious of me because of it...
Maybe that's why I think working with Asch is a good idea. We both have knowledge of everything that happened up until entering Eldrant, and some time after that. As much as he used to complain about Luke being "him" (ie. his replica), he really doesn't seem to want to be associated too closely with him. Maybe that's a sign of forward progress. I was kind of surprised that he thought I might only be associating with him because I saw him as a replacement for Luke. That's kind of impossible, isn't it? I'm not going to replace Luke. I said I'd wait forever, didn't I?
Either way, I get the feeling that Jade doesn't trust any of us. But who can ever tell what he's thinking?
I suppose the next step is to gather information and hunt down a trail. I don't think that our enemy is going to simply appear in front of us and announce his intentions.
