i think that was his youngness coming through. I thought that it was mentioned that Giles affected the rougher "Cockney" accent when he dropped out of Oxford for that bit. (or I could have imagined it)

Re: Giles' accent, I think his accent in reality *is* actually more like Spike's, and that he adopts a different accent for the show.

I like Band Candy. Young Giles and Joyce are such a trip. And one of my favorite Buffy moments was when Buffy read her mom's mind in a future episode and discovered that they'd had sex. LOL.

As I've said many times before, I LOVE the Mayor. One of the best Buffy characters ever.

I agree about Ethan. He's just so blah. I do like the things he does because they are amusing (ie this and the Halloween one where they turned into their costumes), but Ethan himself never got my interest. I guess he was really just there to remind us of Giles' colorful past.
