I got a friend who lives in a small apartment with a roommate, and they each gotta do $800 a month.
Just so you know, that's a poor point of reference. Peruse any given City Pages and you'll find many apts. for $500-$700; obviously that'd be cheaper with a roomie or two, and cheaper than that still if you had a studio apt.
That's true, but I am leaving out everything else. When I move out, I am no longer covered under my parents health insurance or car insurance. Gas by itself right now is roughly $200 a month. Car insurance (even without my record) could easily be $400-500, more so with it. Then of course health insurance.
Basically, when I move out, I have to sell my car. And I am not nearly ready to do that. I'd rather be "embarrassingly" living with my parents in my early 20s and keep my car than have my own place and have to sell it.
Just the kind of fool I am, I guess. But yeah you are right, Drea.
::nods:: Though I think it's an incredibly ridiculous and unhealthy choice to make, it's yours to make or not, so that's neither here nor there - I was just saying that maybe you should look more into it than take one friend's word on the matter before making up your mind.
And watch where you swing that "embarrassingly" - do you not recall whom I live with?
