I have the same problem over in Art_stills - I always get a notification by email if an entry has been posted ( I don't delete it until I've checked LJ). Quite often LJ marks them as spam but there is usually a reference to 'suspicious comment' I click on that and 'unspam', it usually works. I carried on a lengthy dialogue with them in the Help section when one of mine disappeared (retrieved it fortunately from the email!)

Under privacy, untick this part:
"Comments and messages from users identified as potential spammers will be marked as spam and moved to a special section."
