Geocaching is an extremely less hardcore version of orienteering (although it could be hardcore if the person who set itup is like Jared or myself). you use a GPS instead of a topographic map, instead of running through the woods and up mountains looking for a station with a hole punch for your card, and you're hunting for a "cache". A cache will contain whatever...........Basically apon finding a chache, you
1. Take something from the cache
2. Leave something in the cache
3. Write about it in the logbook
So it's not nessecarily a race like orienteering where a bunch of people are trying to get as many stations punched within a certain amount of time. It can be psychotic... or relaxed titting around with a gps looking for treasure.
Speaking of orienteering, I'll ask the Follets if there are any more meets going on when I get back and let you guys know. It's wicked fun.
