Okay, I'm sure no one is really going to be able to answer this, but it's worth a shot.

Our local vegan store decided to stop carrying Tartex, which I found out to my dismay this afternoon. I've seen a LOT of recipes for vegan pate, some good, some not so good, but NONE of them come close to the heaven that is Tartex. For those of you out there ( Read more... )

I have a recipe for hummus that is 2 cups chickpeas, 1/3 cup tahinini, plus garlic and various other ingrediants. Tell me this, does hummus have to have tahini? I don't like it's sharp flavor so much. The commercial stuff doesn't seem to have that bitter taste that my homemade does. does anyone have a good recipe for reasonably healthy yet toddler friendly cereal bars?
needn't be vegan, baby's doing some milk and eggs.

Does anyone have a good rice pudding recipe?   I don't like my rice pudding too gloopy. I'd rather have it on the stiff, or custard-y side.  The recipe I'm using is okay..but it's a bit too stiff.

ok. so we picked 8 lbs of strawberries this morning. i want to freeze some for smoothies and maybe pie. how should i do it? sugar? simple syrup? pectin (i don't feel like going to the store for pectin if i don't have to)? unsweetened (someone said strawberries aren't good to freeze unsweetened)?
