Assuming my Leave chit gets approved I'll be coming home for Christmas. That's a rather nice thought, there. A plane would clean me out, buses are no bueno (no bueno at all), so I'll be taking a train home. That actually seems like a rather lovely idea. firstly, you MUST get a muffuletta at central grocery. that is the true original stuff. just do it. they're amazing.
secondly, you need to have a real poboy there. especially fried popcorn shrimp poboys. soooo good. I don't remember where we usually get poboys at, but they're no doubt delicious anywhere you go.
thirdly you mustmustmust have some beignets (sp?) in N.O. with a nice cup of hot chocolate or coffee. mmmm. btw cafe du monde is most famous for theirs.
and finally if you were 21 you should get a tasty hurricane (the best come in a giant-ass styrofoam cup you can carry everywhere) but alas...
