Last night we had guests over for dinner. I was a bit miffed at the man's dominating treatment of the woman he was with, but noted her evident pleasure in it. Another friend of mine has announced she intends to have the surgery to graft on a penis and become a man. Where is all this gender role resurgence coming from? You know that some people do power exchange consensually, right? That's what D/s is about.

I personally don't think that gender changing has to do with power, at least not the physical alteration part of it.

Yeah, I do know that it can be consensual. So?
Fine and dandy, if you like it.
But I can be made uncomfortable sometimes when ir spills over
out of the bedroom. I'm just ruminating about my own self.

I'm an ex-Harlem gang member, The dominance game has a LOT of implications for me that have nothing to do with sex. So seeing it going on in that sexual mode gets me thinking about my own choice to eschew that sort of thing.
And as far as gender change goes, If it's not at least partly about power, what is it?

To some extent, in this culturally-conditioned society, it may also have to do with feeling wrong in the role your body would put you into but, frankly, most of of the people I've known who've gone the TS route haven't been the type to give-in to cultural conditioning, to begin with, so I don't think that's what it's about ( ... )

Well I wasn't exactly planning on getting a dick grafted on any time soon.

Gonna have my tits chopped off and start taking that dangerously psychoactive drug testosterone*, but the dick thing isn't gonna happen anytime soon cos it costs too fricken much!!

*if I start watching sports or supporting the Red Sox I promise to reduce my dose. Nascar doesn't count though :)

Testosterone? It'll be a triumph if they get you down off the ceiling.
The worst part is, being new to it, YOU'LL be going through puberty yourself. HA! Serves you right! (this after reading about your problems with the adolescent Joe)
So your NOT getting a penis? But having a penis is the best part.
And I hear that the ones you get sewn on are hydralic. So they only go soft when you WANT them to. Handy,that.
Or, since you live with someone transing th other way, the two of you could have both operations together and TRADE genitalia. ;-)
