Wow... I hadn't even been aware that Harper had called for an election.

If the Canadian election mirrors the American election in any meaningful way, the Tories will be out on their ears in a landslide...

Nah, just a by-election. The former MP for London North-Centre, Joe Fontana (L) resigned to run for Mayor of London- he lost to the incumbent. However, that freed up the seat, so -bingo- we get a by-election this coming Monday
