happyjellybean requested a tutorial for this icon, so we're going to see if I can recreate it. Yay!

The icon requested:

The recreation (without text)

 to

Made in PSP9. Translatable and everything :)

1. Pick your base. Mine is of Josh Palmer posing for my version of Edward from Twilight.
And sharpen.

2. Desaturate (hue/saturation/lightness set saturation: -100)

3. Duplicate your base set it to Multiply: 100

4. Duplicate you base again. Bring it to the top and set it to Softlight: 100

5. Duplicate your base yet again. Bring it to the top. Adjust: Blur: Gaussian blur: 2.00. Set it to Softlight: 100

6. Create a new layer and add this brush in black at 100 opacity (I'm sorry, I don't know who made it, I know, I'm the worst icon maker ever)

7. Erase everything covering your subject

8. Create a new layer. Select a basic round brush. Set it to black settings at Size:95 Hardness:0 Step:1. The opacity 80-85 (The lower opacity the greater...glow(?)).
Click around the subject so that the brush does not touch them.

That should give you your result.

In my original I added a red splatter brush at 60 opacity. I also added text but I cannot for the life of me figure out which it was that I used.
I hope that helped!

I would love to see what results you get :)
And comments make life worth living :)
