Pregnancy symptoms they never tell you about

Everyone's heard about morning sickness, and food cravings/aversions, and mood swings.  Most women know about the crazy hair and nail growth, the weird lattice of veins that begin appearing everywhere, the pains on the sides of the abdomen as the muscles begin to stretch.

But did you ever hear about the weird metallic taste you can get in your mouth ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear about your head.:( Your hormones are doing some crazy stuff right now, and I'm sure that's contributing. We are also in the midst of crazy allergy season, hay fever, etc. I'm not sure if you can take Benedryl, maybe ask your doc, but that might help. Otherwise, showers...cool for bad headaches, or a warm one to unclog your nose. Hang in there! Almost halfway there...can't wait to hear if it's a boy or a girl! Yay!

metallic taste is probably because of runny nose.

see if you can take claritin or something for allergies, that might help.

Pregnancy SUCKS! But the baby is so worth it.

Here's hoping the headaches go away soon. Are you getting enough liquids and all that? Goodness knows that with the baby draining off all your system's resources, you could be running dry...

Oh, and now that I'm back from vacation, I can talk getting together! Whew! How does the weekend after this one (as in, almost 2 weeks from now) look for you guys?

Sorry to be so late getting back to you. I was waiting on my dad to pick a date for a bbq he's having...

I believe we're free on the 14th. And possibly also the weekend of the 21st-22nd. Failing that, I think we're going to Kristen & Jamey's bbq on the 28th - will we see you there?

We're good with the 14th, too! Shall we make it a date?

Sounds good to me! Do you mind coming out this way this time? We have to travel the next day, so doing 2 trips out east in one weekend would be difficult for us. But I don't know how your back will be (if next week you're still in pain, we should postpone).

Out here we've got the Eric Carle museum, which is really neat, and Look Park, and probably other kid-friendly places to go. If you want to talk logistics, here's my email: foolishfire at gmail dot com

Have you tried a bit of acupressure/massage to relieve some of the headache? I find using the pressure points doesn't make the headache totally go away, but they do seem to help take the edge off. In combo with the Tylenol it may help to give you some relief. There are often spas that specialize in prenatal massages that may be able to give you some tips on how to do these massages safely.

Glad things are otherwise going well! :D
