The quote is good; it is the principle that is off.  The delightful Ms. Harrigan would tell us that this author was using an unsound 'either/or' method; presenting only two choices when there were more than two possible answers.  ( Read more... )

thanks for the input. i was pretty sure no one was reading these, and because i was writing them mostly for my own benefit, i stopped posting when i ran out of free time. that, and most of the thoughts are not original anyways. that last post was pretty much one big pile of malcolm muggeridge with a little spurgeon slopped together, so it's not like i'm winning any originality prizes here.
but thanks for your encouragement anyways. if there is anytime in the near future when i'm not sleeping, putting boxes on shelves, or cleaning oil filters, i'll post something else.
