[It's a fairly common occurrence for Godzilla the Totodile to hijack Heather's 'Gear-- he's sort of had an affinity for filming ever since he first hatched, after all. But apart from his one little act of philanthropy a few weeks back, he's actually been surprisingly absent for the most part, at least in the sense that he hasn't been filming with

[It's pretty clear that Mathis is using this with Bijou's help- the Houndoom and Eevee seem to be joined at the hip.]

Don't make them look at a Shedinja's back. [This is a Thing that happened, and the Serious Houndoom does not forget how he screwed up. Luckily, Bijou is a little bit more cheerful.]

I think you just need to try and make your trainer happy! After all, if your trainer's trying to make sure you're happy, shouldn't you do the same thing back?

[There's some clacking noises as Zilla fiddles with the 'Gear, scrunching up his snout.]

... Well, she... she already looked into the back of a Shedinja. But I wasn't there. 'Lessa was.

[And from somewhere off-screen, a low female Pokemon voice grumbles--]

That wasn't my fault.

[Godzilla just ignores her. Ironically (considering this entire depressive moment of contemplation is all about how self-centered he's been), this conversation is about HIM and how HE can be a better Pokemon.]

And I've BEEN trying... but she's still not happy.

[She hadn't been treating him BADLY or anything, but... she'd still been noticeably distant compared to before, ever since he'd bitten her. :(]

Well, um, maybe try to do something nice for her? I know Brenda keeps trying to preen our trainer!

That just annoys ours, though. We've never really had a problem with our trainer, so maybe we're not the best help. [Mathis is leaning down and nuzzling Bijou a little.]

I thought that would make her happy.

But it didn't, she was still upset.

[Have a lovely close-up of a blue snout for a few seconds, followed by a snort.

The 'Gear falls to the ground for a split second, giving a lovely view of the sky before Jaws manages to pick it back up.]

Master says that good Pokémon win lots of fights and evolve! Strong Pokémon are good Pokémon. That's what he thinks, and Master is very smart.

[... O-OH GOSH IT WAS A GROWNUP-- at first the little Totodile looks somewhat intimidated, but his fleshy throat bobs and he plucks up the nerve to keep speaking, holding the 'Gear up with both webbed paws.]

So I should evolve?

[He... could have evolved months ago. But he'd been keeping himself from it on purpose... mostly because he liked all the attention he got on account of being little and cute. But it's pretty obvious those months of wanting to be spoiled and babied are something he's not happy about now, for whatever reason.]

Master thinks evolving is good! He likes big and strong and big and... I already said big, uuh... tough Pokémon, but it is hard to play when you're evolved because other Pokémon think you are scary.

I don't think I am scary because I am a good Pokémon and I only fight because Master says it is what Pokémon do and I am a Pokémon.

[Godzilla listens raptly. For the longest time, he'd been the sort to blow off lectures if they bored him... but he's really trying hard to pay attention now!]

Well... she's never made me fight...

[And he sounds a little embarrassed about that. He hadn't ever really WANTED to (aside from the times when he showed off by Water-Gunning wild Pokemon he knew were weaker than he was), so he'd... usually been allowed to play with the 'Gear while the more powerful and gung-ho of the team members took care of all the battles.]

But... you think if I was more powerful, I'd be a better Pokemon?

[And once again, Napalm is rescuing the camera from the excited little Dog, who seems to be following in Godzilla's footsteps.]

[She should shut it off, but the Momix Onix gives the video a considering look, instead.]

[Oh man, it was another big Pokemon... Godzilla had always felt intimidated and defensive in the presence of anything larger than, say, Cujo. But at least she was on the other side of the screen... that, and he was starting to realize those feelings hadn't been of fear so much as worrying he'd be dwarfed in comparison.]

[All the same, he fiddles nervously with the 'Gear for a second before replying.]

Yes.

I'm a bad Pokemon.

[Psh. 'Zilla has nothing to be afraid of, where Napalm is concerned. She's huge, but, quite literally has a 'gentle' nature.]

[She tilts her head to the side, looking as worried as a rock can look.]

[... HE'S MOSTLY PARAPHRASING THINGS THAT THE OTHER POKEMON HAVE TOLD HIM BLUNTLY in the last few months, after the... uh, biting incident. But they're true.]

And I bit my trainer so hard she had to get stitches.

[SO SOMEONE is finally making his way back to Ecruteak, all moped out and everything. He actually doesn't see Zilla's post (he had been ignoring his gear for a few days, anyway), and is hovering around the lobby front desk.

Biz is perched on his head (as usual) with Kei curling around his feet, and it seems Moonlight the Cleffa has made Kaito's shoulder her home perch. The entire group just looks... well. Tired, and even if he's all moped out, Kaito himself is still wearing an annoyed look as he drums his fingers against the desk]

Does it take that long for them to find a room key? Geez...

[Yeah, someone's been waiting around for you, buddy. Ever since Aoko disappeared (and the same damn NIGHT that she'd found out about Snake, too... talk about killing two birds with one stone...), Heather's been a little shaken-up.]

[... Well, no. A little is an understatement. Between the disappearances, and her two old 'friends' arriving in Johto, and worrying about KAITO on top of it...]

[In any case, she happens to be making her way down the stairs, having told her father and Henry she'd be bringing some takeout back up to the room, when she spots the familiar head of messy black hair over by the desk.]

... Kaito! Hey!

[And then she'll be running to greet him with a smile that's just as happy to see him as it is concerned.]

[He doesn't stiffen when he hears her voice (he had expected to hear it sometime soon), instead spinning around to face her smoothly, a smile of his own curling up the corners of his lips. It... seems genuine, and in a lot of ways it is. He's happy to see her, after all, especially after... well. Aoko.

But it also looks a bit tired]

Ooooi! [he lifts a hand to wave] Long time no see!

[Yeah, she has no idea what he's been up to these past few days... but whatever it is, she knows it wasn't happy. KNEW he wouldn't be happy, as soon as she'd confirmed for herself that Aoko was really gone.]

[The truth is, it shook her up pretty badly, too... just the suddenness of it. ... But it's Kaito she's really worried about. She'd lost an acquaintance. He'd lost his best friend.]

[Needless to say, when she reaches him, she'll be pulling him into a hug immediately-- but it's not as rough or playful as her hugs of greeting usually are. And neither is her tone when she replies, even if her words ARE a little joking.]

Yeah, you took your sweet time comin' back.

[Oh. Oh dear. For this, Amaranth's kidnapped the gear to the roof of the Violet Inn, where it's fairly quiet and away from people.}

Do what you can to help your trainer and protect them, is what I'd say.

I've been trying, but she still seems mad!

[Of course, what he doesn't entirely realize is that even though he HAS been in the doghouse somewhat ever since he'd crossed the line with his bratty behavior a few months back, Heather's had countless OTHER things to be upset about.]

[... But he's still right to be concerned about his own actions, because... well, yeah. He HAS been a rotten little thing.]
