Guess what I'm doing tonight? Going out for Thai food! A step away from Chinese, but they're both delicious. Plus I had Chinese last night.
Also, who wants to go see a movie with me tomorrow?
Note: At one point, my camera lens got really dirty and some of the pictures didn't come out well as a result. Deal with it, I did.
At the house we stayed at and around the village
^The house. Well one of them. We ate meals in this one.
^This is Adam. He's pointing to our bathroom.
^This is what kept me sane on the airplane. And the thing that let me fall asleep on our hard-as-rock beds.
^This couch was more comfortable than our beds
^I went out onto one of the balconies, and I got locked out. But I had a camera, so I took this picture.
^Locked out again
^This was from a different balcony. It's a view from it.
^That's Ellie.
^Water buffalo. A lot of these were randomly roaming the streets.
^Chickens!
^Random houses with a pole shot
^Ellie and Adam ready to head off to school!
At the school
^The school. We were told what the sign said, but I forget.
^One of the classrooms
^Another wall shot
^The cook
^This is the first picture we took involving kids...
^And this is what resulted once all the kids realized that we had a camera.
^More kiddies. They tried to get as close to the camera as possible.
^They really are the cutest.
^This was on a day when they gave us a big ceremony that basically honored us. I don't think we we deserved it at all. But the girls did a lot of dances, and they wore these really pretty dresses.
^Awww
^I blend in so well
^These girls were possibly the sweetest ones in the entire school
^Blurry, but this was one of their dances
^Again, blurry. More girls.
^Oh boy(s)
^Little girls!
^Some more skits and such. This was on a different day.
^They were so sweet
^These were some of the first graders
^We actually learned the words to this one, because it was in English. But it's sort of long, so I don't really feel like typing it.
^I think this was one of my favorite dances
^My mom, plus Ghandi, plus Adam.
^I'm the only one smiling! Which is weird, because these girls usually smiled all the time.
^The one on the right had the cutest little squeaky voice ever
^Um. Mr. Schwartz definitely has that sweater.
^See the little girl in the middle with the green dress on? Every time I saw her, I wanted to give her the biggest hug ever.
^I miss these kids!
^The last picture that was taken of me and some of the kids with my camera. I hope to go back.
On the roads and in Surat
^This is a rickshaw (sp?). It's the public transportation system in India. Sometimes there would be 10 people fitting into one of those tiny little things.
^This is what the back of some trucks looked like. You had to honk to signal that you were going to pass. As a result, there was a LOT of honking.
^The people we were with made us try on different dresses.
^The saree, part 1.
^The saree, part 2.
^Alligator bread?
We crashed an Indian wedding! And we watched Wedding Crashers on the plane!
^I think this was like the pre-wedding thing. I wasn't there for this part. My mom took this picture.
^More pre-wedding?
^Awww
^The air was so dusty
^Dancing?
^Oh, mom.
^People
^More people. And a horse.
^My dad and brother somehow managed to get on the carriage thing.
^More crazy dancing
^Inside the wedding tent!
^The bride steps up!
^Aw! I love weddings!
At our hotel in Bombay
^OMG mirror shot.
^Rubber ducky, you're the one!
^They had goldfish in our room. Ellie and I named them Kimba and Feekee. Kimba because she makes fun of her friend for naming her dog that, and Feekee because one of them was pooping at the time of the naming.
^Pretty, right?
^Even prettier!
^The pool we didn't get to swim in
^Santa! I wanted to get in the picture, but the room he was in was only a display room.
In Bombay!
^INDIAN IDOL! So, we tried to take a picture of this billboard for the entire time in Surat. Luckily, we got one in Bombay. I really don't know why we were obsessed with this billboard.
^Ghandi's hizzhouse. Yes, he did live here.
^Some quotes that Ghandi said that I like.
^Ghandi's really tall.
^The Hanging Gardens!
^Another pretty thing
^Adam being Adam
^Me and Ellie
^The gateway of India. Not a very good shot.
^A better shot of the gateway.
^The Taj Mahal...hotel.
^Inside the hotel. I tried to make this a cool shot. But it didn't really work.
^We got lunch inside the hotel. And this was my cappuccino.
^I thought this was pretty.
^A beggar girl put this on my wrist. She was like "no money, it's free!" I felt really bad, so I kept trying to say no because I didn't actually have money in my purse. But she did anyway. And then apparantly my mom paid her. But it was pretty, even if the picture sort of makes it look ugly.
^The best mustache in all of India.
Hope you like them!
