CHARACTER
Name: Hamuko Arisato
Age: 17
Canon: Persona 3 Portable
Canon Point: After the beach trip/gaining Aigis on the team (likely will canon update later)
History:
Persona 3 Portable differences
Persona 3 plot summary
Etc;
- Hamuko was orphaned by a car accident in her youth (headcanon: Minato, the alternate route, was her brother)
- Said to have moved around regularly; nearly once a year

Personality:
Note: As a silent protagonist, her 'personality' in this application will be based entirely on the optional responses to in-game situations and conversations, and compared directly to the male protagonist.

Hamuko is portrayed as a much livelier, much more talkative and much friendlier person than Minato. Her responses are less quiet, and even in battle she speaks more than her male counterpart. And unlike Minato, who generally acts cool or standoffish, her responses tend to be more cheerful, bashful, or slightly huffy. As a result, in contrast to Minato's quiet aloofness, Hamuko is quite bouncy and friendly instead, very open with others and very easy to get along with. Though she's very forgiving and kind-hearted, she can get angry. Typically it's a cold, measured anger as she remains perfectly in control of herself, but if prompted, she can have a mean streak strong enough to get her in a fistfight with another girl. To handle grief, she seems to either ignore it, dismiss it, or otherwise try not to think on it so that she can resume going about her business. For a child who lost her parents in a horrific car accident, as well as someone who was introduced into a world of night terrors and violent supernatural creatures, she remains consistently positive in the face of tragedy. This doesn't mean she doesn't take things seriously, of course, but she's always able to put rationality before emotionality.

Although people initially assume they should protect her or that she's weaker than she actually is, she is a very good leader, able to make quick decisions on the spur of the moment, and usually able to go forth without hesitation or panic. She's strong-willed and even a little stubbornly so, though she's wise enough to recognize limits and back off accordingly. She's very smart, knowing when to retreat or when to fight, as well as simply being book smart and quick to learn. She's hard-working and diligent, often taking jobs in the evening or in her free time. She's notably fearless and able to act in an emergency, whether it's getting into a fight with another person or pulling the breaks just before the train crashes. Whether it's fearlessness, recklessness, or both, she's completely unafraid to get physically violent with others despite of her size and gender. At the same point, however, she also doesn't pick fights with people about trivial matters, and will usually prove her point or her worth through action as opposed to words, which is how she handled Junpei's criticism that the girl is in charge.

She can eat quite a seizable amount of food for her size. Usually, she can be rather self-conscious about it, but around good company she seems rather passive and comfortable with it. She's not the image of a "popular" girl, but she is very friendly and cheerful, as well as very feminine. There's no doubt that she's a girl, after all. She even has the tendency to gossip, even if she's more likely to listen than spread it, and spends a lot of free casual time with Yukari gossiping about things. But she's not one to gossip about who's dating who or which boys are best to pursue; unlike the average high school girl, she doesn't seem to think about boys . She does end up dating quite a few of them, but it's always by befriending them and getting close to them, not through the conscious effort of trying to date them, which sets her apart from the average girl. She regularly indulges in some girly things, such as pampering herself at the salon or baking sweets.

Perhaps the most notable trait that makes Hamuko a unique individual is her adaptability. She's quick to change her role to suit any situation, from battle situations to social situations. This is a trait she shares with Minato; and with good reason, too. It can be said that the reason the two are able to wield so many personas, the "masks" one wears in moments of hardship; they represent the multiple faces the two wear in different situations, and the ability to switch between said faces in an instant. It's the mark of their strength and the representation of what makes them the characters they are.

Abilities/Strengths:
Hamuko is a Persona User; someone who can summon a Persona to combat monsters called Shadows. Specifically, Hamuko is able to summon multiple Personae, unlike all other Users. These Personae are "masks" of one's psyche, the forms they take reflect one's ability to cope with the world. They are represented under the Major Arcana of the Tarot; making her visit to Arcanarum all the more interesting.

She is also skilled with the Naginata as a weapon, though this is more of a conventional and trained strength and isn't a power to be "taken away".

Weaknesses:
Her Personae each have their own weaknesses, so her "supernatural" weaknesses change with her Persona.

She is small and a bit petite, and despite her athleticism she isn't much of a powerhouse and has a natural disadvantage because of her size. She has a tendency to be over-confident about her strength and abilities at times, and while usually it turns in her favor, it could just as quickly get her in trouble. She is also very quick to forgive and very quick to trust, which can also become a problem if she judges someone incorrectly.

ARCANANUM
Story: The story of Kuzunoha
Story Character: Kuzunoha
Plans: I don't have 100% solid plans, however, I plan to have her working to avoid an animal mindset and maintain her humanity. She may adopt different plans if someone applies with Abe no Seimei as their denizen.

Waking up dressed in a kimono was already a little strange; finding that she was in a very traditional house instead of her dorm room especially so. As Hamuko investigated the building she had woken up in, she very quickly found that there was no trace of other residents, or of any of her belongings from the dorm. She checked a mirror to look at herself, seeing no difference in anything other than wardrobe as of now, as she was wearing a rather oddly high-class kimono, which was almost historic in appearance. She didn't take the time to consider details, yet, still intent on understanding where she was. She explored the house a second time, investigating the house instead of checking for inhabitants, trying to understand where in Japan she was, exactly. Which, of course, shot right out of the window when she peered out of the window, seeing a rather distinctly old world German house as her next door neighbor. It was at that point that she decided to find out what had happened.

Getting up, she decided to leave the house, passing the other houses. She registered that they were from different times, different countries, different cultures… but she was going to get to the bottom of this. Persona or no persona. Pulling the edges of her kimono off of the ground to walk, she considered hunting for a weapon before reaching her destination, but before she knew it, she was standing in front of the castle walls, staring up at the stone structure.

Somehow, she knew this was the cause of her arrival in this place. But no matter how much she tried to will herself, something instinctual completely prevented her from stepping inside; an instinct she would later learn was the mind of her denizen refusing to enter. If she wanted, she could likely overpower that base instinct, but even logically speaking, she had no weapon, and no persona, and therefore no means of combat. After a little while at seizing up the castle, both staring it down and taking the sight in, she backed off, turning around and heading back to what she was assuming her new house. There'd be time to prepare and try again later.

Canon update information!
Yakushima --> End Game

Updated History;
Since Yakushima, S.E.E.S. has gained a new recruit in the form of Aigis. Leading into September, they bring Shinjiro back into the group and encounter STREGA for the first time. STREGA immediately proved to be adversaries, acting as a obstacles to SEES' goal of removing the Dark Hour.

In October, Ken attempts to act out revenge for his mother's death by killing Shinjiro. However, Ken hesitates, and Shinjiro gets shot while protecting him from Takaya. Since this is Hamuko's run, Shinjiro does not die. He is still severely wounded and is forced to be hospitalized, however, and it is still a very traumatic event. Ken and Akihiko, specifically, are the ones who grow most from this moment.

November is the month where the final 'boss' Shadow is fought. However, Ikutsuki turned out to be lying; this did not bring the end of the Dark Hour at all. When they confronted him, he revealed that he was actually attempting to bring the Fall, so that he could rule over a world turned into the Lost. Mitsuru's father is present during this revelation, and he sacrifices his life in order to take Ikutsuki's, the two of them shooting each other fatally. As they try to discern what to do next, Mitsuru has to come to terms with what's happened. While they try and regroup and find the next step, what else they need to fight for, they meet Ryoji as a transfer student. Aside from Aigis distrusting him immediately, he seemed to be just another person. Since this is Hamuko's run, she begins dating him for a short period of time. However, on the next full moon, Ryoji is on the Moonlit Bridge, where Aigis confronts him.

Ryoji is revealed to be something called The Appraiser, and reveals the truth of the entity known as Nyx; it is a being that the human race, through its indifference and hopelessness towards life, is calling down to take away their lives permanently, making them all like the Lost. Ryoji tells them that they have two options; first, they can chose to live and fight against Nyx, and undoubtedly die. Second, they can kill Ryoji, and live in blissful ignorance until Nyx descends. Unable to respond immediately, Ryoji swears to return at the end of December, giving them until then to decide their fate.

Once that day arrives, the entirety of SEES has come to the agreement to fight against Nyx, despite the fear and misery they will face. Ryoji fades into the night, and disappears for good. As SEES was preparing for battle and training in Tartarus, a cult began its rise amongst the public, spreading paranoia and worship for Nyx. They learned that it was STREGA, stirring belief in the goddess in order to hasten and/or strengthen her arrival.

Once the destined day comes, SEES begins to ascend to the top of Tartarus, confronting and defeating STREGA on the path upwards. They then encounter the Nyx avatar, and have a long and exhausting battle against it, until it summons the true Nyx. Though everyone was forced under a great and mighty pressure, preventing their movement, Hamuko was able to stand, and gained the power of the universe itself to bind Nyx into place.

Though Hamuko was able to live to see spring, her consciousness fades away, and her soul disappears, putting her presumably into a state not unlike "The Lost". (In Persona 4, there's an implication that Elizabeth is seeking a way to free Minato; it's not unlikely that Theo would be doing the same. So in theory, neither Arisato is actually dead and may possibly be brought back to life.)

Updated Personality;

Things become very grave very fast for S.E.E.S., as Shinjiro nearly dies, Ikutsuki betrays them, Mitsuru's father dies, and the truth of the Fall is revealed. And while Hamuko never loses her positivity or optimism, she does become gradually more reserved and determined. Her giddiness becomes more restrained and is saved for the appropriate moments, and by the end, she's matured into a very calm woman.

When facing the decision of whether to fight Nyx or to kill Ryoji, Hamuko withholds her opinion until she's heard the word from everyone else. When people ask what she thinks, her response is a mixture of "I don't know" or "I haven't decided", up until the final moment, where she choses to fight Nyx. (as opposed to experiencing Bad End.) Her resolve is unwavering, and no matter how much Ryoji tries to convince her otherwise, she will not change her mind.

And despite any fear she might feel, it never impedes her from moving forward. Caution, maybe, but it is never fear that slows any decision or action of hers down. Against the threat of STREGA, the promise of death, and the invincibility of Nyx's true existence, Hamuko remains steadfast, using her love for her friends to carry herself forward no matter the pressure.

And, once it all ends, she is simply calm, and content. Everything was resolved, but she seems at least somewhat aware of her fate, settling herself with contentment. She's going to die, but she has no regrets.

Updated Abilities;
Her Persona repertoire is undoubtedly expansive! But she also has the power of the very Universe at her hands, supposedly. Whether or not this will ever come into play in Arcanarum is something I can't say for sure.
