Hotmail-savvy people, please help!

How do I go about downloading/preserving the contents of my late brother's Hotmail account? I have access, I just don't know how to go about it - there must be some way to download the content of the folders in some form or other, without having to forward each individual email, right? :(

Is there POP or IMAP access for Hotmail?

I don't know. I tried to import the contents to Gmail, since they give lots of free space and don't randomly delete your account, but couldn't make it work - I'm just not sufficiently web-savvy...
