He knew it wouldn’t be hard as Loew was really only considering him and Bastian for the role - the other candidates had only been thrown in as a formality, a gesture of good will but nothing more. He also knew that Bastian was sometimes a little too arrogant for his own good, already smiling and joking with Lukas about his future as captain of Die Mannschaft. Philipp had simply smiled to himself and quietly passed the two on their way down to the hotel kitchen, already plotting his next move.
If there was something he knew with more certainty than anything else, it was that if you wanted something, you had to go get it yourself. And Philipp was good at that, very good. With his quiet demeanor, small build, and sunny smile, people always underestimated him - assumed him to be too nice to do anything remotely wicked, innocent even.
