I appear to have made a liar out of myself. ("I do not do Y, do not ever see myself doing Y, am not predisposed to doing Y, and in fact find the concept of Y somewhat confusing and distasteful. It's not a lie if you believe it at the time.

On the other hand, if I hear someone saying they don't do "Y" in the terms you described, I'm usually skeptical that it'll last. It sounds like the sort of thing I've heard about polyamory many times, and every single time, the person who said it ended up at least somewhat poly eventually (whereas those who really weren't going to ever be poly just said "I'm not" and left it at that, without all the extras).

You never promised you wouldn't do Y, merely said you did not see yourself ever doing Y, which I'm assuming was true. At the time you did not. All it means is that you changed, not that you were a liar.
