YFC - Class Essay

For my creative writing class this semester, we were assigned to either write a short fictional piece or an essay about something in our life that's had a major impact on us.

I felt the exact same way the first time. You're certainly not alone, and our family rocks! <3

I started crying already before I started reading the actual essay part, just because you made me remember exactly why I flew to London last year to spend less than 48 hours on British ground. And then I remembered the time when this year's Europe tour dates were released and how freaking hard I fought and how freaking many times I had to start planning from scratch again because of unbending but screwed up work schedules, just to figure out which lives I could possibly attend ( ... )

But they don't understand - some of them don't even want to TRY to understand.

That's part of the reason I originally wanted to write this...
Because it really IS so difficult to explain to someone else why this matters so much, why something so seemingly simple is actually embedded in so many different aspects of our lives.

Trying to explain it to someone who doesn't have that connection really is next to impossible, so I hoped that maybe this piece would provide even the smallest bit of inside into why I admire him so much and how I've come to love this family, which understands without needing a single word of explanation...

I know a couple people already said they're showing this to their families to see if maybe they can get even a slight grasp of what this means to some of us... ^_^;> But if this is something that can help someone connect or understand, then that's a miracle in itself.

I hope it does some good to those people - my people wouldn't get anything out of this. My relatives suck at English, my friends don't but they have that mental block; they accept my "craziness" and listen to live "report" rambles if I have any to share, but there's that silent negative body language, blank faces while I talk, wandering eyes, playing with their cell phones/nails/hair/whatever, that tells me they're not really interested and don't really care to get interested either. :|

My eyes still hurt after all that bawling. Going to bed in an hour I think.

Thank you ^^;

I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing him in the States in March, and possibly in SA and connecting with the Dears there too, to share these experiences.
