I got fed up of trying to get a proper 64-bit toolchain on OSX Leopard, so installed linux on my macpro at work. I've not booted back into OSX in quite some time now.
Linux was one of the things I have already installed. Using VirtualBox. Mostly very nice. The 'seamless' mode doesn't work very well, as the linux windows seem to lose their window-manager parts, but that is a minor point. OpenGL works*, so I can use Mayavi2, which doesn't have a handy Mac installation package, and apt-get is so much better that trying to build it and its dependencies by hand.
* though the rest of the linux display doesn't seem to work so well while OpenGL is working.
I am just getting ready to install win7 when it comes out next week so it can run along side 10.6
the one thing I have not found so far is getting it to boot from a stick so I can run Linux on a stick. everthing else so far works. but I am not yet a power user under osx
