Tapping Tuesday

So, I don't know how that makes me feel, but there was a Tapping Tuesday question concerning Helen/John. :)

Q2 - @ladydeadlock - Hi! Does Helen truly hate John or is she just trying 2 resist/deny her feelings for him? I'm confuzzled! Xo

A2 - Join the club. Helen is very confused by her feelings for John as they seem to defy logic and good sense.

That's how I read it, too. The 'defy logic and good sense' part makes it sound like that. I don't think she would have said that if Helen hated John, 'cos it would be 'normal' given everything he did.

Honestly, that's how I've always seen Helen's feelings towards John. I think there's still a part of her that loves him because he was her first love and they never truly got a chance, but the sensible part of her wants to resist that love. IMO, I think both John and Helen are living in the past. Whenever they see each other, that's what's always hanging in the air. They both need to move on from it and accept that it's the past and it can't certainly be changed (at least I hope so, though that might not be the case since we're going into a time travel time) and find a way to be around each other without it being the only thing between them. Idk if that makes sense, but that's sort of how I'm feeling, especially after the finale.

I definately took it in a good way. Their relationship is definately a complicated, wonderfully dysfunctional one. But she loves him in spite of it, trying to resist and/or deny her feelings for him because of who/what he is, but can't quite do it, and it drives her mad, frustrates her. That's just my take on it of course.
