I think people don't remember what it was like to be 15. I was a sophomore/junior in high school. I wore thigh highs with my school skirt because I thought it was kind of hot. At 16, me and Lisa were talking about how we'd be total sluts someday. Yeah, I wasn't actually doing anything, but I was aware of my body and sexuality and liked looking sexy. If I had a boyfriend/girlfriend, I probably would've done stuff. I was always kind of slutty, you just brought it all the way out! And you know what? THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
Also, whatevs. She's a little hottie. I bet Nick loved them.
Seriously. I like wearing tops that show off some cleavage, and I have since I was like, fourteen, because you know what? I think it looks good! Being sexy is fun, being proud of how you look is a good thing. And seriously, I had friends who were doing sexual stuff at 15, I did at 16, and I don't think there's anything wrong with it at ALL. Being safe and smart about it is important, but experimenting with someone you care about? FUN TIMES.
Seriously, she's totally hot. The only part of this whole thing that I am WTFing over is how they were meant for Nick, because girl could do so much better.
It's like, I see all this stuff, and I'm like "Damn, if you think she's a ho, what must you think of me?" And then I just get incredibly angry. Because she works for Disney and 11 year olds look up to her, she has to act LIKE an 11 year old? Oh heeeeeell no. And if you have an 8 year old who loves her, how the fuck hard is it to explain "That's something she did because she's older and in love"? I mean, god, if your kid is just going around copying everything Hannah Montana does, maybe you should teach them how to be a little more independent.
There's a line in a Counting Crows song, "you put your girl up on a pedestal, then you wait for her to fall" and I feel like we do that SO much with female celebrities. We tell them to be perfect and then condemn them when they're not. It's fucked up.
As much as I like Disney, sometimes they drive me fucking crazy with this shit. I don't know, like I think they do a great job of telling kids to be themselves and stand up for themselves and live their dreams, but this whole 100% asexual thing. ESPECIALLY extending to the PEOPLE that work for them in their personal lives, utterly retarded

Dude. I hate people so much. Her STOMACH is showing and she's blowing an adorable kiss to her boyfriend. It is perfectly fine. I hate how guys are macho and awesome and expected to be promiscuous and big sexy beefcakes while women are told to cross their legs and keep their sexiness secret and to never show off anything. A woman who knows about sex is a slut or a whore and a guy who acts the same way is popular and such a MAN.
Also, beefcakes is not a word I use often. I think this rant fucked with my head.
SERIOUSLY. It's always such a double standard. Pete Wentz caught grief for his naked pictures, but no one called him a whore. When guys get naked, that's all that gets talked about, the fact that the guy is naked. When girls get naked, she must be having all kinds of sex in addition to this nakedness. She must be a slut. It's all the same, for a girl. Sexuality, sexiness, and sex.
I KNOW RIGHT? I mean, for all this fuss to get started up over those pictures is bad enough. It's the Vanity Fair thing all over again. Like, really, THAT is what's making you call her disgusting?
And then I just get so incredibly angry, that people are truly this uptight and judgmental. Grrrrr.
She is just acting normal! But she's not allowed to be normal, because she's Miley Cyrus. And that's fucked up. And you're right about the "slut" thing. The definition of it really applies to someone who is promiscuous. And just to clarify, I don't agree with the term slut as an insult at all. I don't think promiscuity is bad, as long as it's safe. But in this case, calling her a ho or a slut isn't just misogynistic and douchey, it's also just WRONG. She's not being promiscuous at all.
But like I said to Kate in another thread, it's all the same to most people. If a girl is being sexy? She must be having sex! She must be having lots of sex! If a girl is exploring her own sexuality? GOD WHAT A SLUT. Having sex with her first boyfriend? THAT MEANS SHE'S GOING TO BE A WHORE ALWAYS. Sexiness, sexuality, sex, they all = slut. It's fucking ridiculous.
Seriously. Kids would probably fare a lot better in this world if they weren't taught to be ashamed of their natural bodies from day one.

It's hard enough to be human, being fucking judged due to your gender or by 15-year-old choices is fucking stupid.
