Well, a strong regard for ethics tends to register as "lawful" in the olde AD&D system, while a strong regard for morals tends to register as "good". Also, a high regard for the needs of the many tends to be a "lawful" trait, even if one has little regard for the legislation of one's land and country.

Of course alignment isn't an exact science: trying to categorize people in philosophical boxes is always a dicey business, if you'll pardon the expression. ^_^

I would have expected that if thee were categorized, oh mate of mine, thou wouldst have been on the cusp between LG and NG. Ah, that thing within you called conscience...
