From what I can see, everyone is exhausted and many of them are busy struggling to keep their standard of living - so instead of arguing loudly in public, the majority of people are digging in and attempting to solve their own local problems rather than paying attention to national politics.
Which is probably eroding the partisan hatred quite a bit because once both sides realise that they can't trust the government, one of the big points of contention goes away. (But people still disagree about which people deserve to eat / take up medical resources etc).
