I guess I should have been clearer. The house in the picture is not the one we bought, it's just an example of how crummy asphalt siding looks. And buying distressed houses is more or less what I do for a living, so that's more of a 3 or 4 times per year game than a "life event".

This is the house we're buying.

Looked at the pictures...you're not just brave, you're superbrave!

being interior architect I have a pretty good idea of the scope of work that waits for you. They shouldn't be asking for $10k, they should be offering it

Well, the standards around here are a little different than I suspect you're used to working with :)

The last house we did literally had floors rotted out of it. like "not present". A month's work for 2 or 3 guys, and five or so thousand dollars should see that place back in service.

Yeesh, at least it should be easy to reside with the flat walls and windows almost the same shape. The windows themselves are a bad design. They'd look better if they were all the same size.

Well, wow! Condolences on the miscarriage, and congratulations on the rest!

And thank you for giving your child a normal name, not like "Hashtag" or something.

Lol! We actually went through the names that were popular in the 1900s, and made a lis of those... Then picked a completely different name suggested by Cait's sister!
