Trump for president

I have come up with a strong reason to support Donald Trump for president. It's a little game theory, but it's final in my view ( Read more... )

The Supreme court pick is the biggest reason I'm voting for Trump. Okay, sure, don't hold your nose and vote for him out of principle any other election, but please not the one where the future of the Supreme Court is at stake.

It will certainly be nice to see the press in an adversarial relationship with the administration for a change.

I want Trump to build a wall and send all of the mexicans, muslims, 'refugees', and other illegals HOME.

That's all I want him to do. If he does that, he'll be the best president ever. I want a return of American Nationalism, I want a return of what this country used to be 20 some odd years ago.

He's the only one out there talking about doing that.

If I had confidence that Trump would actually send the lawbreakers home and limit Muslim immigration, I would seriously consider voting for him.

My problem is he says so many contradictory things that I don't have any confidence about anything he says.

I do have confidence that he will try to do it, unless Congress stops him.

I know that no one else out there will.

I know that Hillary will finish destroying this country.

We are headed for a major civil war in this country, just like Europe is. With Hillary it will be a much bloodier one, with Trump, if he builds the wall and reasserts American Nationalism, it will not be half as bad.

But all those Mexicans and Muslims? they're going to revolt. And soon. Because that's what third world assholes do, constantly.

True, but the leftists think that if we could just hate ourselves a little more and give out free shit, then they'd be happy and try to integrate.

The only problem there is that it's happened before, to no avail.  In the end even the Republican Party turned against Richard Nixon, and in the wake of his resignation followed things like the War Powers Act…  which President Clinton adroitly sidestepped and Bush II simply ignored.

The limitations on executive authority are already codified - but laws are only words, and if no one bothers or cares, they mean nothing.

I don't believe a word coming out of Trump's mouth. Including his intentions re: Justices.
No,I will not hold my nose and vote for him.

I understand. I also don't have a clue what he's going to put up as scotus picks.... but I know *exactly* what hillary will. I find it pretty likely that Donald will nominate judge judy or somesuch.

I will vote trump over hillary, not because I think he's *good*, but because I think he will be far less effectual at doing harm.

Would it be fair to call it a "lesser of two evils" situation?

I agree with mosinging in that my concern is that Trump constantly contradicts himself. However, a Hillary presidency will be the final nail in the coffin.

I would call it more a "devil you know" situation... Combined with a "well, that's going nowhere fast".

I have no clue what Trump will do. He is therefore an improvement on someone I *know* will do the worst imagineable things.

Trump, if elected, will face intense resistance, from BOTH parties. Hillary, if elected, will enjoy the full and unrelenting support of the democrat party. She will therefore be FAR more effectual at implementing absolute horrors than Trump will be at implementing whatever he tries.

So, on both important fronts, he is the less awful candidate.
