I once talked online with a guy who said everything sexual was fine as long as no one got hurt -- I asked how he could know that -- he actually said you should just know.
Well, it's an argument. IF there isn't a god, then exactly what is the argument that any consensual safe sexual action is "immoral"?
I have seen thousands of arguments on both sides of this issue, and honestly, all I have is "society works better if people restrain their sexual urges", which opens up a thousand other questions, for instance, many societies have sexual mores that differ from the standard anglo-saxon concepts (polgyamy and polyandry, to name 2 common ones).
Which leaves the *consequentialist* reason that the christian anglosaxon society is dominant, and that may be attributable to the familial structure. Which is both a consequentialist argument, and debateable.
And then there's the "you should just know" argument, which is legitimately how most people determine their mores in this area.
