Could anyone tell me about the political science program here? I just got rejected from NYU applying early decision (which I was a little surprised about, but whatever), and I'm trying to find other schools in the city with decent programs.

Fordham has a political science program, but it is not one of the strongest programs available. I never knew anyone who majored in it poli sci.

I notice you're mot from the NYC area. Are you choosing the colleges you're just because you want to be in NYC? Not a good idea. I've seen people do this, and be very disapointed. Look at the school itself more than it's location.

Thank you so much! That made me feel a little better about applying to Fordham.

I'm from Brooklyn but was raised in Florida, but have been visiting every summer ever since I can remember, so I pretty much know my way around the city.

Could you tell me a little about the acceptance rate? Not getting into NYU has really made me nervous about applying to other schools, haha.

As a political science student, I can personally vouch for the program. Although it is quite challenging, the professors are awesome and conduct a good deal of research in a wide range of areas (a good portion of them are ivy league educated if that means anything nowadays). I, like you may be in the future, am a student who never expected to be at Fordham as it was nowhere near my top choice, but it has truly turned out to be the best experience of my life thus far. If you're looking for a well-rounded education that's really going to open your mind to new things and new ideas, then Fordham is certainly the place for you. Grade worshipers beware though because it is known for its tough anti-inflation grading policies. Good luck with your decision and, if you choose Fordham, I'm confident that you won't be disappointed!
