I lived at the lincoln center campus and went up to the RH campus all the time. There is an intercampus shuttle that cost $2 (tho i think its gone up now). You can also get free pass books if you have classes you're going up for. The ride is anywhere from 30minutes to 1.5 hours depending on traffic (longer on a friday night) and you have to trust college student drivers lol. The odds were against me but I survived it for four years! haha. The shuttle leaves right from LC so you'd have to live pretty near there unless you don't mind commuting to the van and taking longer. I also doubt that you'd find anything for 800/mo near the lincoln center campus. When my fiance was looking for apartments two years ago the cheapest down there was literally a narrow closet sized room and it was 1100/month. Definitely couldn't fit a roommate in there ( ... )

Manhattan rentals are crazy expensive. Will you be interning in the City? Living in Manhattan will give you less studying time and more commuting time. You will miss out on most campus interaction by living downtown, and the temptation to ignore your studies and party every night will be huge.

Good luck!
